In 2010, in cooperation with Rieter Werke, Keller HCW supplied two production lines for manufacturing large-sized terra cotta floor tiles to customers in Vietnam.

The extruders with proven Rieter technology consist of de-airing double-shaft mixers and worm extruders, with a control system with learning humidity control supplied by Keller HCW. Downstream of the extruder die, a Keller HCW high-performance puncher cuts floor and facing tiles up to a width of 700 mm and cutting lengths between 50 and 9 999 mm.

The plants are especially designed for the production of floor tiles with fired dimensions of 600 mm x 600 mm and a production output up to 3 mill. m² per year. Naturally, other sizes can be manufactured without any need for major conversion work. With corresponding accessories, the production of hexagonal or octagonal plates as well as plates with round contours is possible.

Another highlight is the additional “lateral cut” equipment, which is used mainly for the production of steps for staircases or heavy-walled facing tiles.
