Not just testing, but consulting services, too

News from Switzerland: In January 2022, p+f Prüf- und Forschungsinstitut Sursee, a construction materials testing and research institute, was renamed p+f expert AG. The change in name and new logo communicate the wider portfolio of the testing specialists and expert consultants for construction headquartered in Central Switzerland. Managing Director Ruedi Räss has announced: “Supplementing our testing services, we are offering technical and communicative specialist consulting services. In the testing sector, we shall continue supporting our long-standing contact partners and customers as usual.”

Making products fit to better withstand environmental impact

Driving rain, gale-force winds and hailstones as big as golf balls, Climate change and its consequences is a challenge facing the construction industry. p+f expert AG is making its contribution by testing materials and products to gauge their resistance to environmental impact and offering additional consultation services. More specifically, it determines resistance to hailstone, resistance of roof coverings to lifting and the intrusion of driving rain. Besides laboratory tests, field trials also conducted in Melchtal, which is located at altitude of over 1 000 metres. The advantages of the new combination of testing and consulting services is summed up by Ruedi Räss: “Relevant findings from material testing are channelled directly into consulting. This results in real added value for the product quality.”
