Architects‘ Darling Award 2020

Two golds and two silvers for Wienerberger

Four awards for Wienerberger: in the Architects’ Darling Award 2020, the manufacturer of clay construction materials has won gold in the “Open Space” category with its Penter clay pavers. Silver was presented for the Wienerberger’s Terca facing bricks in the Facades category. In the jury awards, too, the company took gold for the best reference project “Haus am Buddenturm” in Münster as well as silver for the best product innovation for the building shell with the climate-neutral brick. The winners are chosen on the basis of a survey conducted by Heinze’s market research among 100 000 architects and planners. The awards for the overarching marketing categories are decided by a high-calibre jury.

For the tenth anniversary of the Architects’ Darling Awards the Heinze Architects’ Portal modified the survey concept. Focus this year was on criteria like personal consultation, sustainability or brand confidence.

Comprehensive portfolio – in service, too

“Wienerberger is known as an innovative manufacturer of clay building materials for the entire building envelope. At the same time, we are committed to making it as easy as possible for our customers with extensive services and competent consultation before and during the project phase,” says Jürgen Habenbacher, spokesman for Wienerberger GmbH’s management. “We are all the more delighted at this year’s excellent placings. They show us that we are not only on track with our product innovations, but architects and planners are also positively aware of the quality of our service.”

Product variety and
sustainability

With its Penter clay pavers and Terca facing bricks, Wienerberger offers architects and planners an extensive portfolio in a variety of colours and surface characteristics that make for unlimited creative design. “Our high-quality products made from the natural raw material clay are sustainable and last for generations,” says Andreas König, Sales Managing Director at Wienerberger. “At Wienerberger, we see ourselves as responsible for leaving these generations an environment worth living in. This includes the development of a climate-neutral brick. The fact that it has won silver in the best product innovation for the building shell fills us with pride.”

The presentation of the coveted Architects‘ Darling trophies took place on 16 November 2020 as part of an online event organized by Heinze GmbH.
