Utilizing recovered air in the chamber dryer – possibilities and limitations

Compared to continuous dryers, chamber dryers have the energy drawback that the drying air supplied is not fully saturated when it is discharged from the process.

Already very early on, dryer designs and operating principles were developed to feed the drying air through more than one drying chamber, lowering the air required accordingly. Whereas operation of the first systems, with rigid operating cycles, could still be controlled, today this is no longer possible with the random setting sequences in the dryer chambers, varying drying times and different drying programmes.
